Sasha Walsh

Sasha Walsh Designs

"I embrace experimentation and self-expression. Drawing from classical metalsmithing practices and making things up as I go, my design aesthetic is rooted in natural textures and forms. I allow the materials to guide me, finding that some of my best work happens simply by accident. "

Throughout her adolescence, Sasha Walsh explored the creative arts, including painting, sculpture, clothing design, and eventually, jewelry design. In her early twenties, she graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a developed appreciation for beautiful objects that inspire the beholder. Her inquisitive nature and passion for the outdoors source the discovery for her work.

Walsh creates her jewelry through a number of traditional techniques, including soldering, lost wax casting, and hammering and polishing. She works primarily in sterling silver and brass, along with a wide variety of natural gemstones. She has a love for the beauty in raw metal.

In 2011, Sasha Walsh earned a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in metalsmithing and jewelry design. After working as an assistant to a local jeweler in Boston, she pursued her metalsmithing career in the city, and loves every minute of it. Sasha continues to participate in a wide variety of craft shows throughout the East and West Coasts.
