Sarinda Jones

"I use a phrase, 'Left of Center,' to describe the details in my work. This phrase is also used to describe the relationships of the visual line and emotional motivations."

Sarinda Jones begins each piece with conceptual drawings and designs and then moves to the technical methods of assembling and completing each piece. Every work is one-of-a-kind. Although some pieces share common shapes or elements, no two are exactly alike, ensuring the originality a collector may wish to acquire.

While the placement of color and individual elements may appear random, Jones often uses a formula and complex pattern to design her pieces. She is interested in condensing the elements of her work to their essence, to create a concentration of spirit, character and physical presence.

The artist says,"We all experience a time in our lives when we have been uncertain of an outcome, and recall that moment when time stands still, the tipping point. I try to capture that moment."

Sarinda Jones began studying glass at the Pilchuck Glass School in 2003, and continues to enroll in workshops and conferences.
