Nikki Nation Jewelry

Nikki Nation

"I enjoy mixing industrial and geometric design elements to create bold and unique jewelry that is suitable for everyday wear. "

Nikki Nation was originally drawn to metalsmithing because of its ancient roots: the tools, techniques, and processes have been used for centuries. She strives to create modern, industrial jewelry using these traditional metalsmithing techniques. Her inspiration comes from the different forms and properties of her materials, as well as design elements, patterns, systems, and repetition.

All of Nation's jewelry is handmade using traditional methods of metalsmithing such as fabrication, forming, texturing, and forging. A heat technique is used to create the kinetic wire ball details, while a variety of hammers are used to create texture on each form.

Nikki Nation received her BFA in jewelry and metalsmithing from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois. Since then, she has worked with a variety of silversmiths and goldsmiths using a diverse range of techniques.
