Lisa LeMair

LeMair Handcrafts

"My work is inspired by the elements, natural forms, and the tension found at the edge. It celebrates the confident woman who is not afraid to stand out in a crowd. "

Lisa LeMair grew up in a family of makers and has been designing and making objects since she was a little girl. Travels throughout the United States, Europe, and Central Asia have influenced her designs and continue to provide artistic energy to everything she does.

LeMair's work, which includes both jewelry and wearable art, features simple, elegant silhouettes, lots of surface texture, bold shapes, and a high degree of comfort and wearability. Her jewelry features lots of volume and surface texture, and is created with enameled copper, sterling silver, semi-precious and precious stones, and other meaningful objects.

LeMair's artistic training includes classes and workshops at The College of the Albemarle and Penland School of Crafts, along with a lot of self-directed study. She also has a diverse creative and professional background, including project management, web development, theater, dance, costume design, and graphic design. LeMair has a degree in Russian language from Georgetown University.
