B.R. Delaney

Fieldstone Artistry

"I follow a blueprint that closely governs the work that I create: function, quality, and beauty. Each piece that I build adheres to these features. In every step of my creative process from inception to completion, I let these terms guide my hand to create pieces that will last for generations. "

B.R. Delaney is greatly influenced by the studio furniture movement of the mid-twentieth century. Craftsmen such as Nakashima, Maloof, and Eschrick are at the heart of his design aesthetic. In addition to these inspirations, he tries to capture the ideals of function, quality, and beauty in a balance in all his work.

Delaney specializes in locally harvested solid wood, which allows him to create pieces that will stand the test of time using natural, renewable resources. With a studio in upstate New York, Delaney is close to the source of many of these materials. Combining amazing access to materials with a melding of traditional and modern techniques allows Delaney to create truly one-of-a-kind pieces.

Delaney is entirely self taught as a furniture maker. In his adolescent years, he began building rustic tables and chairs entirely by hand. His passion and desire to enhance his craft has continued to grow with time. Allowing his higher education training to inform his design and construction techniques, he has produced a style uniquely his own that consists of traditional and experimental elements.
