David Paul Bacharach

"I want a person to be taken first with the pleasing color and form of the piece. But as they get closer to it, I love to hear them say, 'oh yeah, look at that!'"

For over 30 years, David Paul Bacharach has been creating unique, handwoven metal compositions, drawing from diverse artistic and cultural sources.

Bacharach was attracted to the metal weaving process primarily because of its spontaneity, a trait that is essential to his method of working. When Bacharach begins a new piece, he doesn't have a definite idea of what that particular object is going to do. As he progresses, he determines how each new section will be integrated structurally and visually into the whole.

Bacharach's art has been shown in numerous exhibitions from Paris to Philadelphia, Indiana to Ireland, and Santa Fe to San Francisco. He has been widely praised for his virtuoso metalwork. His work can be found in public and corporate buildings, museums, and numerous private collections.
